The Pianist Vientiane

The Pianist Vientiane Chamber Orchestra, established in August 2020 by Ms. Mookdavan Khattiya, a classical music preserver, purpose to create a sustainability development of the orchestra music industry in Lao, showcasing Lao's treasured musical heritage by reimagining and performing classic songs. While embracing a global musical approach, the orchestra remains dedicated to elevating traditional Lao instruments such as the khaen (a bamboo mouth organ), Lanard (Lao xylophone), Kui (Lao flute), and Lao drums, seamlessly blending them with Western instruments. The Vientiane Chamber Orchestra's performances also play a role in promoting tourism by often selecting historically significant locations as their performance backdrops.
